Match Report – Final games of the first half

As we reach the half point of the season, the league leaders AK Eagles escaped with a narrow win over Nafees by just 2 wickets chasing a low total of 93 and have now extended their lead to 24 points. They still remain unbeaten, can AK Eagles continue their form for the 2nd half of the season. 2nd place Karmand lost to Kashmir who now drop to third place and Whiterose chased Kings XI Lahore target of 123 in just 15 overs to secure maximum points and now move back to 2nd place above Karmand. The difference between 2nd and 6th place is just 17 points and looks to be an interesting season at the top. Whilst the mid and bottom half are also is very tight with just 7 points between the bottom three, every point counts.

Bradford Riders extend their league at the top of the Crescent Section to 30 points ahead of 2nd place Nathia who also won today against Diamond. The table is also very tight with 9 points between 2nd and 6th place.

Hanover is in a good position as they also continue their 100% record and have only dropped 5 bonus points for the whole season. They have a lead of 32 points above 2nd place Wakefield Stars who are also having a good season after two early loses. The Jinnah section had 4 out of 5 games which set a target of 200+ and all defended their totals.

Key game in the Star Section today was between United Friends and Friends for the 2nd place, United Friends chased the total of 155 in just 23 overs to keep their chances for a 1st place. Brighouse Qalandars scored the highest innings total of today with 333 for 7 in 45 overs and bowled out Northcliffe in 15 overs for just 51 and maintain their position at the top of the table.
