Well done England Lionesses for wining a major trophy after 56 years. The win will inspire young girls whatever their background to consider football.
The result in the Premier Section has made the race for championship more tighter as Karmand maintained their position at the top as they beat Diamond by 5 wickets, on paper it seems an easy win but Karmand lost their first 5 wickets early on but the middle order dug them out of trouble to secure 19 points. Bhalot beat AK Eagles to take them into 4th place, just 19 points behind the league leaders. Kashmir moved into 2nd place as they secured a four wicket win over Whiterose who now drop to 3rd place 2 points behind Kashmir and 14 points behind league leaders. The two bottom half of the table fixtures were won by Darulshafa who beat Bradford Moor by 88 runs whilst Rising Star beat Rajput by 7 wickets. Both Darulshafa and Rising Star move to mid table to take them out of relegation zone.
Leeds Stallions move to the top of Crescent Section and secure a place in the play offs, Subhan need to secure 7 points in their final fixture to also secure a place in the play offs. Yorkshire Lions loss against Kings XI Lahore took them off the top of the table and dropped to 3rd place. Yorkshire Lions play Indus Bradford next week and need to secure maximum and hope that Kings XI Lahore also beat Subhan to give them some hope to move into second place. Mid table fixture at Old Leons was won by Indus Bradford by a comfortable six wickets as they chased Central Leeds score of 153 after losing the toss by constitution.
Great Horton Sports secures the second place in the play off’s in Jinnah Section as they win comfortably at home against third place Khan who now drop to 4th place as Nathia United move into third place after their eight wickets win at Sherburn against My Lahore Tabs A. Nathia United need a win next week to maintain third place and move to the Crescent Section in the re-structure of next season. Great Horton host unbeaten Heaton Park next week, can Heaton maintain its unbeaten record in the final league fixture or will Great Horton take revenge.
The top of the table match in the Star Section between Scouthill and Punjab was won by Punjab who now secured the 2nd place for the play off’s in their respective section. The third place is very tight between Northcliffe A and MyLahore Tabs B with an outside chance for Friends who’s game was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch. Northcliffe need to beat Punjab next week and claim at least 14 points to maintain third place.
